 Upcoming Event

(Plum City June 29, 2016) –
The Plum City Lions presented at ZoomText Magnifier Reader to Dianne Gilles at their
Lions Club meeting on July 27th
Dianne has been experiencing increasing difficulty with
reading and sight issues and asked for the Lion’s assistance in obtaining a ZoomText
Program that can be used to assist in reading. ZoomText Magnifier/Reader is a fully
integrated magnification and screen reading program that enlarges, enhances and reads
aloud everything on the computer screen. It features crystal clear Font magnification,
customizable enhancements to on-screen colors, complete screen reading and easy to use
document reading tools.
Since Lions Clubs International was founded in 1917, Lions have worked on projects
designed to prevent blindness, restore eyesight and improve eye health and eye care for
hundreds of millions of people worldwide. Indeed, sight is one of Lions defining causes.
Lions clubs have aided the blind and visually impaired and made a strong commitment to
community service. Throughout the year, Lions also collect used eyeglasses and deliver
them to regional Lions Eyeglass Recycling Centers. LERC volunteers clean, sort by
prescription strength and package the glasses. Recycled glasses are distributed to people
in need in low and middle income communities where they will have the greatest impact.
For more information or to get involved with the Plum City Lions Club, please contact
Ann Bechel at 715-647-2713. .
